During last week’s match against Charlton the girls secured the region Championship with wins from four out of our five girls team. Number one singles players Emma Courson and number two singles player Molly Newbern both came out on top for the Lady Dawgs. Both of these girls won in tight matches where they beat their opponents in a tie breaker. Number one doubles team Laney Fulghem and Jacie Faircloth also beat their opponents in a close match during a tie breaker. Kadie Newbern and Kailin Ley, number two doubles, swept Charlton away winning 6-3 and 6-1. The boys team lost on Thursday 2-3, but because they previously won 4-1 against Charlton, they took home the region championship. Kush Patel was a key player for the Bulldogs at number three singles. He played a double header in Charlton and his second win secured the Bulldogs being named Region Champions. Nick Wyre also secured a win in Charlton defeating his opponent in two sets.
