Kendrick Lamar has dropped his new album GNX without notice.
The surprise project, Kendrick’s sixth studio effort and first not to be released on Top Dawg Entertainment, clocks in at 12 songs and includes the previously teased “squabble up,” which was previewed at the beginning of his “Not Like Us” music video.
Guest appearances come from SZA, Sam Dew, Dody6, AzChike, Siete and Wallie the Sensei, Hitta J3, Peysoh, Young Threat, Lefty Gunplay, Ink and Deyra Barrera, while production is handled by the likes of Mustard, Sounwave, DJ Dahi, Terrace Martin, Jack Antonoff and Kamasi Washington, as well as Kendrick himself.
GNX, whose title nods to the Buick Grand National Experimental car, arrives on the heels of Kendrick’s high-profile feud with Drake, which saw his stock rise even higher thanks to the success of his chart-topping, Grammy-nominated diss track “Not Like Us.”
