Lil Durk has been arrested over his alleged role in a murder plot against Quando Rondo to avenge the death of King Von.
The Chicago rapper (real name Durk Banks) was arrested on Thursday (October 24) in Broward County, Florida on a charge of murder for hire, according to police records.
Five other men, alleged to be members of Durk’s OTF (Only the Family) collective, have also been arrested on charges of murder for hire and murder for hire conspiracy in connection with the 2022 killing of Quando’s cousin Saviay’a “Lul Pab” Robinson.
Durk is currently being held without bond at Broward County Jail and is awaiting transfer into the custody of U.S. Marshals.
Neither he nor his team have yet to comment on the arrest.
The newly-unsealed indictment, filed in the U.S. Central Distict Court of California, charges five men with Robinson’s death: Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey and Asa Houston.
They are accused of attempting to murder Quanda Rondo in Los Angeles in August 2022 but killing the rapper’s cousin, who was with him at the time, instead.
The group carried out orders from and relied on the resources of OTF, according to prosecutors, with flights and rental cars paid for with a credit card associated with the label.
While Lil Durk isn’t mentioned by name in the indictment, it claims that an unnamed co-conspirator offered “money and lucrative music opportunities” to anyone who would take part in killing Quando Rondo.
Quando was with Lul Pab at a gas station in Beverly Hills when they were shot at. The Georgia rapper escaped unscathed but his cousin was fatally wounded.
It is believed that the attempted hit on Rondo was in retaliation for the death of OTF rapper King Von, who was shot and killed during a scuffle with Rondo and his crew in Atlanta in 2020.
