Hip-Hop is more than just music, IT’S THE CULTURE. Originating in 1973 in The Bronx, Hip-Hop has paved the way for music production, fashion, and the media. Calling Legend DJ Kool Herc the “Founder of Hip-Hop” was only the beginning. He began the foundation of Hip Hop. Who knew while trying out a new breakbeat, DJ Kool Herc would lead us to such an influential genre of music. His unique breakbeat DJing, led to the familiar terms “b-boy”, “b-girl”, “break dancing” & what we know today as “Rapping”. Fashion definitely got a new style to tap into. Even though Black Culture always set the new trends, Hip-Hop allowed the world to see Black Culture in a Fresh new light. The gold rope chains, Kangol hats, & matching tracksuits were only a few of the Hip-Hop staple ensembles that changed fashion. Media has always loved fresh new ideas & that’s exactly what Hip-Hop brought to the table. The unique sound of Hip-Hop helped it to not only stand out, but it created a legacy that people appreciate and utilize in all areas of music & media. From the catchy commercials we hear on the radio & tv, to the distinct sounds of Hip-Hop we have grown to love, we have to pay Homage to where it all began. Thank You DJ Kool Herc & The Bronx for creating such a memorable legacy. HAPPY BIRTHDAY HIP-HOP‼️
