Fat Joe has claimed that his heated beefs with 50 Cent and JAY-Z in the mid-00s cost him millions of dollars in endorsements.
Speaking on Sneaker Shopping, Joe opened up about how he had deals with both Air Jordan and Reebok fall through because of the feuds.
The “Make it Rain” rapper alleged that Michael Jordan refused to work with him after viewing a tense moment between him and 50 Cent at the 2005 MTV VMA’s.
Joe said Jordan phoned him to say: “Yo, Big Joe, you know, I’m not with controversy. Maybe we look at this in the future.”
Joe continued: “They shut it down. They was just like, ‘Yo, we won’t do business with you if you give this guy a sneaker.’ That’s part of the karma. It’s part of the ins and outs. I’ve done it to other guys. It came back to me.”
Fat Joe also recently claimed that he had lost millions of dollars as a result of an alleged extortion plot enacted by his former hype man, Terrance Dixon, and his attorney, Tyrone Blackburn, who accused him of having sex with underage girls.
In legal documents, the “New York” legend says he was pulled from three primetime TV appearances with his new Joe & Jada podcast also losing out on sponsorship deals totalling hundreds of thousands of dollars.
He also alleges that the allegations led to national retailers halted negotiations with him about stocking his grooming brand Rewind It.
