Ladii Yunique (born October 11, 1990) is an American hip-hop artist and entrepreneur from Sussex County, Delaware. Known for her work in hip-hop, street rap, and storytelling. She began writing poetry in 2004 and transitioned into recording music in 2009. She is the Founder and CEO of the For Shore Movement, an independent artist development initiative founded in November 2023 to encourage collaboration, mutual support, and business development among independent artists.
Yunique’s musical journey began with poetry, which she used as a form of personal therapy to express thoughts and emotions she kept private. Her introduction to recording came through a friendship with Blandell Jones, a neighbor at the time, who was learning recording software. After inviting Yunique to record with him, the two began writing and recording together regularly. Along with Jones’s sister, known as Showtime, they formed a group called The Mishaps. The group recorded numerous songs but never publicly released or performed them, keeping the recordings unreleased.
In 2015, Yunique began working with Maryland-based recording engineer and producer Erik Handy Jr., who was initially recording artists from his home. Their professional relationship continued as Handy developed his business professionally, into Cash Mixed It, a professional recording and mixing studio in his hometown in Maryland. During this period, Yunique continued refining her writing, expanding her understanding of music production, and learning about the creative and business aspects of the music industry.
Yunique released her first track on major streaming platforms in 2023, a freestyle called “Hip Hop Anonymous”, recorded over an instrumental provided by a New York producer in 2017. Her approach to releasing music has included performing songs at various venues and gathering audience feedback before making them publicly available. Her single “Leave Me Alone,” written in 2018, was created over an instrumental purchased from producer Keith Mafia, who was just 19 years old at the time. Her single “Loyalty,” released in 2026, marked a significant creative milestone as the first track for which she wrote and produced the instrumental herself. As of October 2026, three of her singles are available on all digital music platforms.
Yunique has performed across Delaware, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. Her performance history includes 2021, a period she has identified as an important stage in her career development, opening for Reed Dollaz- One of the first major rap battle stars in Philadelphia, Omillio Sparks- A founding member of the Philadelphia rap group State Property, which included artists like Beanie Sigel and Freeway, Metricton757- An artist with the independent hip-hop collective SSR THE LABEL based out of Newport News, Virginia, and Austin RGE Jonez- An independent hip-hop artist, music producer, and audio engineer and the first cousin of Young Dirty Bastard (the son of late Wu-Tang member Ol’ Dirty Bastard), and Nardo Wick A rapper and songwriter, who gained mainstream recognition with the release of his breakout single “Who Want Smoke?”, a song that grew into a major hit with a remix featuring G Herbo, Lil Durk, and 21 Savage, which peaked at number 17 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and received platinum certification.
Her performance experience also includes sharing stages with Philadelphia-based music executive, A&R, promoter, artist, and booking agent Hollywood Him in 2023, further strengthening her presence in the tri-state independent hip-hop circuit. In 2024, she opened for La Biggie, associated with the Zeus Network reality series Baddies, in New York. Her live performances have also led to opportunities to host events, attributed to her energetic stage presence and audience engagement.
These experiences have contributed to her growth as a performer, expanded her connections, and helped her gain a deeper understanding of the independent music business. From developing her skills as a songwriter to taking creative control of her production, Yunique continues to evolve as an artist while building her reputation and pursuing greater opportunities.
In November 2023, Yunique established the For Shore Movement to bring independent artists together through a collaborative network built around mutual support and shared promotion. Beyond her artistry, Ladii Yunique brings an entrepreneurial vision to her career, building a brand that extends beyond music. Through her leadership, Yunique aims to help independent artists grow beyond their music, break unproductive habits, and take a more strategic approach to their careers. The initiative also emphasizes artist development, encouraging musicians to approach their work as entrepreneurs, strengthen their professional presentation, develop effective project strategies, and build sustainable businesses around their creative abilities. The movement has continued to work with a number of the artists involved in its early development.
Beyond live performances, Yunique has participated in music-centered media such as Podcast, Studio 2 with DJ KP, hosted and founded by Kevin Palmer, known as DJ KP, a DJ for radio station POWER 101.7. Her appearances have included hosting theatrical productions with the For Shore Movement, cyphers and special guest features. Yunique has also participated in and served as a judge for music reviews, further demonstrating her versatility and commitment to supporting creative expression within the independent music community.
Yunique is currently promoting her newly released single “Loyalty” while networking to expand her reach and pursue opportunities on larger platforms. Her upcoming mixtape, Hard Drive, is planned for release in 2027, although a specific release date has not been announced. Yunique lives by the philosophy of being more creative today than she was yesterday, constantly challenging herself to push boundaries, reinvent her sound, and deliver the unexpected. Unafraid to step outside the box, she embraces originality as her signature, refusing to be confined to one expectation. For Yunique, growth means never becoming predictable, always evolving, and making sure her next move gives audiences something they never saw coming. With a foundation in poetry and a continued commitment to hip-hop, Ladii Yunique remains focused on expanding her platform, strengthening her legacy, and representing Sussex County, Delaware, on a larger stage.
