Thug and Weezy first teamed up in 2014 for Slime Season‘s “Take Kare.” Weezy then invited Thugger to collaborate in 2020 for an “Out West” remix, which landed on his DJ Khaled-hosted No Ceilings 3 mixtape. Young Thug and Lil Wayne’s rocky friendship took a dive soon after Thug named his 2015 mixtape Carter 6 then Barter 6. Wayne didn’t know if he was being trolled or the Atlanta native was truly paying homage to the legendary Carter series. In 2019, Young Thug said he didn’t think Wayne liked him and at the end of 2020 in an interview with the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast, he explained how Weezy didn’t even dap him up the first time they met.
