Kenya White, is a native of Columbus, GA.
Kenya began taking music seriously when he became a member of the Fort Junior Middle School band playing the trumpet. At George Washington Carver High school he became the 2nd chair trumpet player in his freshmen year (usually held by upper classmen). Only experience or a challenge for the chair can get you that spot, Kenya had the skills and the courage to challenge for that position. As member of the marching band, he not only played the trumpet but the drums and occasionally the trombone. Also while in high school, another talent was discovered… DJ Kee was born when he ask to DJ for the high school talent show, earning his title as the go to DJ for all the high school party’s for his remaining high school years and transitioning into a teen club DJ at the age of 17. In his senior year, he earned a band scholarship to Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Ga where his passion and love for DJing grew even stronger. Kenya would come home on the weekends to DJ at the clubs in the Tri-City area of Columbus and several other towns and cities in Georgia and Alabama. In 2003, after creating a large following, he gained the attention of a sales representative at Davis Broadcasting Inc., where he was offered a position and became a radio board operator and mix show DJ for WFXE (FOXIE 105). The Program Director noticed the passion and hustle in him and gave him an opportunity to learn how to program the music for the station. He became the Mix Show Dj Coordinator and the Music Director for Foxie 105. As time moved on, he enhanced his knowledge of the radio station, the music business, and the community, eventually becoming an On-Air Personality with The Vanglorious Show on Foxie 105. The Show became the highest rated night show in the market gaining the highest rating of a 40% shares in Georgia (that record stands today). That growth led him to his current position as Assistant Program Director for Davis Broadcasting, which includes Foxie 105 and 5 other stations. Kenya says it’s the love for the music and how music makes others feel that keeps him happy doing what he does.
